Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) was created and commercialised by FEXCO who brought DCC to market in 1996. DCC is a service that enables VISA and MasterCard cardholders view and transact international credit card transactions in their own currency.
As well as being a distinct cardholder service, DCC enables the local Acquiring bank (e.g the bank who processes the payment on behalf of the merchant) and the local merchant benefit from the currency exchange fee normally added to such transactions by VISA , MasterCard and the international issuing banks. The merchant will continue to receive settlement in its base currency.
FEXCO DCC has become a core product offering of Acquiring banks as it enables the Acquirer generate substantial new profits for its merchants and itself whilst increasing transaction visibility for international cardholders. FMS provide DCC to over 30,000 merchants in conjunction with over 25 Acquiring banks globally across all major merchant verticals.
